Smyrna Quince tree can self-pollinate. Belonging to the Cydonia genus in the Rosaceae family, it stands as a solitary member. This deciduous tree yields firm, fragrant, vivid golden-yellow pome fruits, resembling pears. When ripe, quinces are tough and tangy, rarely consumed fresh but often transformed into marmalades, jams, jellies, or alcoholic drinks.
