Siyah Kis Fig Tree also know as Winter Fig tree. This variety known in Turkey as Siyah Kis which literally means “Black Winter”. It is a Turkish fig cultivar (accession TR1088) that has been grown in the Aegean region of Turkey. In some sources it’s listed under the synonym “Winter 1088 Black,” reflecting its Turkish origin (Siyah = black, kış = winter).

 Siyah Kis Fig Tree variety was traditionally not widely grown commercially, but fig enthusiasts have recognized its unique traits and potential. Today it is prized by collectors for its late-ripening fruit and notable cold tolerance. This is a unique variety known for its late-season fruiting, producing sweet, soft figs well into autumn and early winter. Siyah Kis Fig Tree is ideal for Perth’s climate, it thrives in full sun and adds seasonal interest with its extended harvest time.

It is a cold-hardy, self-pollinating variety prized for its sweet, dark purple fruit with deep pink flesh. It fruits in late summer to early autumn, offering a generous harvest for fresh eating or preserving.
