This pink waxy looking skinned Jambu (white inside) is a rare addition to Australia. Mostly grown in Asian countries but now suitable to be grown in Perth climate as long as protected from frost at seedling and young stage. This pear shaped fruit is considered a fast growing tree which produces sweet, juicy and crunchy fruits.
Just like any other trees, you can trim it to keep it short and it still can produce fruits.
Jambu fruits are great additions to your salads and dessert plates on a hot summer bbq gathering - party pleaser!
If you fancy some wild twist - Jambu can be eaten with soy based shrimp paste that can be bought from Chinese groceries.
